The Role

The focus of this role is to support the implementation of Better Place Australia’s partnership plan and foster relationships with stakeholders, including Ministerial staff, government agencies and sector not-for-profits. Supporting BPA programs in elder abuse prevention, family law/mediation, and mental health.

Specific objectives of the role include:

  • Development of new partnerships or initiatives aligned with Better Place Australia’s goals.
  • Increased engagement with stakeholders in aged care, mental health, and family law sectors.
  • Successful implementation of the partnership plans and positive feedback from stakeholders on communication and collaboration.

 

Key tasks to be performed in this role include:

  • Supporting the implementation of the new partnership plan by identifying strategic opportunities to enhance Better Place Australia’s reach and impact.
  • Work with internal service area teams to align partnerships with service delivery priorities and ensure representation at key sector forums.
  • Work with BPA leaders to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and fostering long-term collaboration.
  • Contribute to the enhancement of the stakeholder engagement plan, monitor effectiveness, and prepare detailed reports for leadership.
  • Seek advocacy opportunities for Better Place Australia’s services in key forums, promoting awareness and engagement.
  • Identify and address risks related to stakeholder engagement and alert of Government policy changes that will influence future priorities.

 

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Proven experience in stakeholder engagement or partnership development.
  • Experience in human or family services, aged care reform, government advisory roles, family violence, mental health, or family law is highly desirable.
  • Strong interpersonal, facilitation, and documentation skills
  • Strategic thinking; and project management skills.
  • Understanding of Better Place Australia’s focus areas (e.g., elder abuse prevention, mediation, mental health, aged care).
  • Familiarity with systemic challenges in family law, aged care, and financial well-being.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills
